pieces

pieces was my fall senior studio that allowed us to create objects/images and the world they were to exist in. I chose to create a line of furniture uniting the styles of japan and morocco. at the time, these two cultures had very en vogue styles including color, texture and pattern. the styles were united over the cultural impact which came from convening around food and drinks. i thought it fitting to have a cultural aesthetic exchange in the same atmosphere where people often exchange ideas: a lounge.

i created two tables whose form was inspired by a japanese tea table and whose tabletop design was influenced by moroccan repeated patterns. here is the abbreviated version of my process book:
